Local Eats around Center Hill Lake

When you plan a getaway, you certainly don’t want it to be too much work. We offer cooking facilities in all of our accommodation options at The Retreat at Center Hill Lake if you choose to prepare your own food when you stay with us, but there are a number of fine eating options in this area to choose from if you’re looking to eat out. We’ve listed just a few of our favorites here, all of these are within a 15 minute drive of us. We recommend that you contact the restaurant before heading out, as hours and opening may have changed.

 

Hickory Cafe

Hickory CafeThis is our very own, home-smoked BBQ treat, right on the property of The Retreat at Center Hill Lake with perfect lake views. If you are looking for some good BBQ, and it’s a Friday or Saturday summer night, then look no further! We offer a selection of mouth-watering meats, delicious sides and enticing desserts on an all-you-can-eat buffet. At the time of this blog, the Hickory Cafe is also opened on Saturday and Sunday mornings for a yummy breakfast spread. Call for more information, 615-597-4298.

 

 

F.Z. Webb & Son’s Pharmacy and Soda Fountain

This historic pharmacy, moved locations in recent years in order to expand and provide a Soda Fountain just like they did in years past. At the new location, you can enjoy delicious soda fountain treats (including Blue Bell ice cream) and satisfying menu options for lunch.

 

Rose Garden

If you like pie, then this is the place for you. The menu is full of great options in addition to the daily meat and three specials, but the sampling of pie should not be skipped. They also offer your favorite southern breakfast options including biscuits and gravy and   country ham with sliced tomatoes. 

 

Kilgore’s

This Smithville staple is always busy and for good reason. Here, you can pair your favorite southern sides with a delicious and reasonable-priced steak or a number of other classic and unique options.

 

Blue Water Grille on the Hill

Blue Water Grille on the HillThis little treasure is located on the campus of Tennessee Tech’s Appalachian Center for Craft and offers a great selection of breakfast and lunch items as well as a wide range of creative caffeinated beverages. Summer hours are limited as they primarily cater to the student schedule, so call before you make plans.

 

 

 

White Possum Grille

From Southern classics to stir fry to pasta and more, this place has it all in their expansive menu. In addition to great food choices, they offer extra conveniences like ordering to-go from your phone for a quick pick up option if you want to take it out on the boat or bring it back to your suite. Updates and daily specials are posted regularly on their social media.
